Fundraising ActivitiesThe American Red CrossThe American Red Cross will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. This is the charge of our Congressional Charter. Our Charter provides for us to deliver disaster services free of charge. We are not goverment funded. In order to provide relief to victims of disaster, we depend on the donations of the public and private sectors. We always need your help. When you give, it may be as an individual, a group, or as part of a fund raiser. When you give, you will know that you have helped a fellow human being in a time of need. The Oconee County Chapter received its Charter from the American Red Cross on August 3rd, 1918. We are chartered to provide the services of the American Red Cross. To that end, we provide immediate needs under Disaster Services, Armed Forces Emergency Services, and, we also offer Health and Safety Services. As a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, we are dedicated to serve the citizens of Oconee County, and the nation as needed. DONATIONSIf you would like to make a donation, you may send a check or money order to the address above. If you would like to make a donation with a credit card, scroll to the bottom of this page and click on 'Donation'. Please do not send cash through the mail. If you would like to make a cash donation, come to the Chapter in downton Walhalla at the above address. All monies donated to the Chapter will stay in Oconee County to help Oconee County victims. If you want your donation to go to National Headquarters, go to the National Red Cross web site at www.redcross.org. IN-KIND DONATIONSThe Oconee County Chapter will accept your car, boat, real estate properity, motor cycle, and other similar items as donations. These items, however, must be in good, clean, usable condition and not require work. Please call the Chapter to make an appointment for us to view your item.
